Owen Springs Power Station update

Construction will soon commence in Alice Springs on the 66kV transmission line from Karnte Road to the Lovegrove Drive switching station.
 

This follows the completion of the transmission from the Owen Springs power station to Karnte Road which will now be extended to the switching station using underground and overhead cables.

These works are part of the $130 million enhancement of the Owen Springs power station and includes a 66kV transmission line upgrade at Lovegrove Zone Substation.

After community consultation the powerlines will be a combination of both overhead and underground importantly underground through the MacDonnell and Blatherskite Ranges.
