Katherine local, Anne-Marie Hayman, is the new Area Manager for the Katherine region.As part of a move to serve customers better, Power and Water has restructured the Area Manager roles to incorporate a wider, regional responsibility.
As part of the community, Anne-Marie is looking forward to representing Power and Water at regional committees, counter disaster meetings and events. She said ‘This is a great opportunity to tie all the services together, be an approachable, recognisable face, to follow-up customer’s concerns and be innovative in our response.’
While Katherine has had an Area Manager for the past few years, the new role has been expanded to give wider operational oversight for the whole of the Katherine region, which is from Elliott in the South to Pine Creek in the North.
As Area Manager, Anne-Marie will coordinate services for more than 4,500 customers and the supply of electricity, delivery of water plus sewerage services in the Katherine region.
Anne-Marie is well qualified for the role with a science degree in electrical and electronic engineering and a Masters in Design Systems in Production Engineering. She also has extensive experience having worked for Power and Water since 1995. Having worked across both engineering services and remote operations, she was involved in restoring services to Katherine after the 1998 and 2006 floods.
She has lived in Katherine since moving from the UK in 1992. With children Madina 14 and Bradley 6 both at school locally, she also enjoys being involved in sporting organisations and is currently President of the local swimming club.
