Power and Water father and son install solar system in Timor

11 May 2017

Last month, two Power and Water staff returned from a trip of a lifetime in East Timor after the father and son tirelessly volunteered their time and expertise in a six month project to help school children in a developing village.

Jeff and Julian Coulter offered their services to East Timor Sunrise to travel to Letefoho, 50km from Dili for the second time. They successfully completed the installation of solar roof panels to help maximise efficiency and provide continuous power at an isolated school still without running water.

“To be able to volunteer our time and services was a fantastic experience,” the two said.

Jeff’s highlight was working with common minded people to find solutions.

“Learning about the culture and assisting in their dream to develop the country and become a vibrant economy for the young people of Timor Leste was important to us.”

Jeff has worked at Power and Water for ten years as an electrician and Julian is a fourth year electrical apprentice.

They have received so much positive feedback from many Power and Water individuals expressing interest in also assisting with similar causes.

Director Eddie de Pina was thankful of their devoted efforts.
