Chris Lai - Employee of the Year

09 June 2017

Congratulations to Chris Lai, from Power and Water’s Business Systems and Information Management (BSIM) who was the recipient of our Employee of the Year in the 2016 Annual Awards.

The father of two is no stranger to awards as he was recognised last year’s Quarterly Reward and Recognition presentation for his excellent services to Power and Water’s business units.

Chris has diligently worked for Power and Water for over six years as a Business Relationship Manager in Darwin, providing project management, IT support and advice.

The IT specialist was nominated for the prestigious Employee of the Year award by three different Power and Water areas of business.

BSIM first launched the customised Land Development Application Tracking System in late 2014 to enable a more effective process for all business areas to work cohesively together to successfully deliver their projects.

“Before the LDATS database, business units were unable to collaboratively capture all project workflow and deliverables in one overarching document, making it difficult to provide updates to external stakeholders,” explained Chris.

Power and Water’s different business areas provided feedback during the pilot to increase the database’s functionality.

In Chris’ nomination, the teams said Chris exceeded the service level expected and coordinated and delivered solutions as well as displaying Power and Water’s values along the way.
