Networks & infrastructure
Delivering water and electricity across 1.3 million square kilometres is no small task.
Territorians use more than 65,000 mega litres of water a year, sourced, treated and tested by Power and Water staff and contractors. It takes more than 2100km of water mains and more than 1100km of sewer mains to service our population.
There are more than 8500km of power lines and underground cables delivering electricity across the Territory, from gas, diesel and solar generation.
These figures increase every year as the Territory's population and industry continue to boom.
Power and Water is well into a five-year works program to upgrade and add to this infrastructure to cater for the Territory's forecast growth.
This section contains information on our infrastructure and will help you connect new developments to the power, water and sewerage networks.
