The successful candidate will provide leadership in asset management, providing service level performance monitoring and reporting of electricity generation, power system performance, water extraction and delivery, sewage inflows and effluent discharge.

We are looking for a control systems technician to join our Water Services unit. You will provide Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and PLC controls expertise associated with the delivery and maintenance of water and wastewater systems.

You will need a Diploma of Engineering or equivalent with a trade background and significant experience in the design, documentation, commissioning and maintenance of PLC control and SCADA systems.

As a key team member, you will be called on to resolve complex faults on critical equipment. You may be placed on the on-call roster, some travel within the Territory will be required, and you may qualify for an Extra Duties Allowance.

The level of appointment will be dependent on qualifications and experience.

We are looking for a licenced electrician with a water and sewer systems background to join our dynamic Remote Operations team, providing technical advice and supervising contractors working on remote communities.

This rewarding position involves travel to isolated areas of the Northern Territory, suiting applicants with an appreciation of the natural environment and a desire to supervise work in Indigenous communities.

You will have a Trade Certificate in Electrical Fitter Mechanic, Electrical Instrumentation or equivalent. You will possess, or be able to obtain, a Northern Territory A Grade Electrical Licence. Practical knowledge of water treatment systems, pumping control systems, metering instrumentation and communications systems such as telemetry and SCADA is also required.

Working as part of a team, this position is responsible for the installation and maintenance of our telecommunications network throughout the Northern Territory.

The person we are looking for has experience installing and maintaining UHF and microwave radio, telemetry systems and fibre optic transmission equipment. You need highly developed interpersonal, written, oral and communication skills.

The Planning / Scheduling Officer ensures work is appropriately planned and resources allocated efficiently to meet customer requirements.

The person we are seeking should have a relevant trade qualification and willingness to work flexible hours as needed. You will have demonstrated ability to scope and schedule projects, to identify and prioritise tasks and have good communications skills to foster good working relationships.

The Planning / Scheduling Officer (Network Performance) ensures work is appropriately planned and scoped, and resources are optimised to meet internal and external customer requirements in the Northern Region.

The person we are seeking should have a relevant trade qualification and the willingness to work flexible hours as needed. You need an in-depth knowledge of high and low voltage networks and a demonstrated understanding of network switching.

We are looking for a licenced electrician to join our Remote Operations team. You will have a broad knowledge of power systems, providing advice and supervising contracts to operate and maintain electricity supplies in Indigenous communities in the Northern region.

The successful candidate will hold (or be able to obtain) a current Northern Territory 'A' grade electrical license and NT drivers' license. You will have a general working knowledge of diesel-powered generating sets, control of generating sets in automated stand-alone power stations and an understanding of low and high voltage distribution systems.

The position is based in Katherine, with travel by road and small aircraft into remote communities.

Power and Water is seeking an electrical cable jointer to work in a multi-skilled team installing and maintaining power network electrical infrastructure. Your knowledge on the jointing and terminating of both HV and LV XLPE cables is essential and an added advantage would be the jointing and terminating of paper cables.

You will inspect equipment and worksites to ensure staff and equipment safety in accordance with occupational health and safety regulations as well as train and develop apprentices.

We are seeking a person to install and maintain our electricity metering systems as part of our Power Networks business unit. The position involves making sure our metering system is serviceable and accurate, and that it meets regulatory standards.

The Network Performance Coordinator is responsible for the performance of the transmission and distribution networks in the Northern Region, including the investigation of network failures and power quality complaints.

The person we are seeking needs a relevant trade qualification and a willingness to work flexible hours to meet customer requirements. You need knowledge of the activities of an electricity distribution corporation, including the design, construction, maintenance and operation of underground and overhead mains and associated equipment.

This position provides high level engineering services for piston engine, gas turbine and steam turbine generator power generation plant and associated ancillary equipment to support generation development programs. 

An appropriate engineering degree and proven industry experience relevant to the position is essential.  Duties include developing engineering solutions for the design and implementation of electrical components for generation plant, the preparation of development plans for new and existing power stations and the management of projects to implement these plans.
