The successful applicant will also have a thorough understanding and application in OHS Management Systems auditing.

This is a six month fixed period vacancy.

Join our Financial Services team and coordinate, report and analyse cost drivers, forecasts and budgets for a business unit.  This will include report design, key performance indicators, financial modelling and ad hoc reporting through the Chief Financial Officer and business unit General Managers.

The successful person will preferably have experience in financial analysis and accounting in a large corporate environment in manufacturing, construction, asset management, mining or utilities.  You will also have the skills to communicate with senior management across the Power and Water Corporation.

The primary responsibility of this role is to support and manage the operations group responsible for the efficient and safe operation of three major power stations located at Channel Island, Weddell and Katherine.

Provide leadership in planning for all emergency service response, maintenance and major capital works.

You will need extensive experience in asset management, maintenance programs, project tendering and contract management, along with the leadership skills to facilitate change processes and translate broad corporate direction into plans and action

You will liaise with various sections of the Power and Water Corporation, shire councils and contractors to provide safe, environmentally sound and efficient delivery of essential services in remote Indigenous communities.
 
You need experience and expertise in the coordination, evaluation and delivery of training programs, development and management of contractual arrangements and strong time management. 

Excellent written and oral communication skills are desirable as well as an ability to negotiate contract budgets including dispute resolution and a thorough comprehension of computer systems. 

An understanding of cross cultural issues and experience working in remote Indigenous communities would be beneficial.

The Alice Water Smart Project is an exciting new water conservation project for Alice Springs that aims to save 1600 million litres of water use per year.

As the Alice Water Smart Works’ Supervisor you will supervise construction of major water supply and wastewater recycling infrastructure works. You will ensure construction meets OH&S, environmental and quality standards.

You will require a trade certificate in technology and/or extensive experience in the role of works supervisor on large construction projects. Sound knowledge of OH&S standards within the construction industry, computer skills and good verbal and written communications skills are essential.

The level of appointment will depend on qualifications, skills and experience.

There are two ongoing positions available.

We are looking for someone able to install, maintain, repair, service and operate equipment relating to our water and sewer system.

The person we seek will have a plumbing trade certificate or equivalent with extensive experience in the water industry focusing on water and sewer reticulation systems. They will also have the ability to read and interpret systems drawings and a willingness to be trained and to become qualified to work in a potentially dangerous environment.

The position involves working some overtime and being rostered to attend after hours calls.

As part of a small team, develop strategic water supply and sewerage system development plans for centres in the Northern Territory. Your work will support the negotiation of key regulatory and resource management objectives for water extraction, wastewater discharge and effluent reuse.

You will need a relevant engineering degree; well developed technical knowledge of and experience with planning and development of water supply sources and treatment and/or wastewater treatment, recycling and return to the environment. We are seeking someone to maintain all asset registers and associated reporting, together with providing advice across the Power and Water Corporation in relation to major asset programs, policies and strategies to improve the Corporation’s financial performance.

The successful applicant will assist in the development and provision of expert advice to business units on major asset costing, capitalisation and management policies and processes to provide a sound asset management framework for the Corporation.

Ideally you would be CPA/CA qualified, or working towards qualification.

There are two ongoing positions available.

We are seeking two Financial Systems Officers to assists in the coordination, reporting and analysis of capital, cost of sales, operational, recoverable works and repairs and maintenance programs for the Corporation, to perform asset capitalisation as well as administration of the projects.

Among other tasks you will help create, maintain and administer projects and tasks in the Projects Module of Oracle Financials and the Asset Management System for Corporate Services. This will include assisting with resolving queries, undertaking month end process and providing financial analysis of the various programs.

We are seeking an experienced training specialist to manage and coordinate training within the Asset Management Capability (AMC) Project.

Responsibilities of the position include contributing to business improvement initiatives based on our Asset Management framework, coordinating the training program for Power and Water staff and tailoring training materials on asset management and related systems.

The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge and experience in the development of training packages for commercial off-the-shelf business systems as part of an overall transformation plan.

We are looking for an experienced person to coordinate and provide advice and approvals of water and sewerage services, policy, legislation, easements and conveyancing in relation to development activity, particularly for building and land subdivision works.
The person we need has technical experience and knowledge in the area of water supply and sewer systems and a diploma in engineering or extensive work experience in this field.  Good oral, written and communication skills are also required. 

As a member of the Water Services team, this position will undertake various activities related to water and waste water metering and revenue protection in the Darwin, Palmerston, Adelaide River, Gunn Point and Cox Peninsular (greater Darwin) areas.

Carry out duties in accordance with Power and Water's safety, environmental and quality policy, safety principles, corporate values and strategies.

This is a fixed period 18 month position.

The Essential Spares Records Officer provides support to the Power Networks Asset Management unit through a range of asset and record management tasks.

The successful applicant will have a demonstrated ability to organise daily tasks, set and operate work priorities and work with minimal supervision.  Good computer skills in the Microsoft Office suite of products and experience with file managements systems and work information management systems are essential for this position.

Join our Water Services unit in Alice Springs and provide electrical, SCADA and controls expertise for the delivery and maintenance of water and wastewater systems.
You will need a Diploma of Engineering or equivalent and experience in the design, documentation, commissioning and maintenance of SCADA / PLC-based control systems and telemetry systems.
An additional trade background is highly desirable.  You may be placed on the on-call roster and will be expected to travel within the Territory for short periods of time for work.

Under the supervision of the Manager Electrical Operations, this position is responsible for conducting technical investigations and assessments, preparing specifications and supervising routine and specific contracts. You will also provide technical advice on activities associated with the operation and maintenance of power stations and distribution systems in remote communities in the northern region.

The successful applicant will require a Northern Territory electrical licence or be able to obtain one as well as relevant experience in the field of power generation and power distribution.
