Promoting reconciliation across the Territory

Power and Water is proudly the first Northern Territory Government owned organisation to develop and implement an inaugural Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) in accordance with Reconciliation Australia’s vision for organisations to contribute to the reconciliation of the nation.

Our vision for reconciliation

Our vision for reconciliation is that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders have the same opportunities in health, employment and education as other Territorians.

We recognise that the success of the RAP is dependent on respectful leadership and relationships as well as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ involvement. It is driven by our RAP Working Group comprising our Executive Leadership Team and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander senior employees.

Our RAP Working Group is committed to key initiatives and projects focused on improving and increasing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander recruitment, retention, training and employment and supporting leadership into senior roles through the development and formalisation of an Aboriginal leadership unit.
